Το συντριβάνι στην αυλή του ναού της Αγίας Σοφίας οικοδομήθηκε το 1740 από το σουλτάνο Μαχμούτ Α’. Πρόκειται για μεταγενέστερη έκδοση του έργου "The Beauties of the Bosphorus ; by Miss Pardoe. Illustrarted in a Series of Views of Constantinople and its environs, from original drawings by W. H. Bartlett. Virtue and Co., London" (1838).
