Description
Mould made bowl with convex wall, vertical rim, everted lip. Decoration: Lower wall decorated with small fronds with dotted spines. Between the fronds alternate birds in flight to the left and Erotes riding swans. Above, in two indistinct registers, hounds and rabbits running left; deer and foxes running right (Compare C-47-789, C-48-14). Above, framed by two fillets that encircle the bowl, a series of foxes running right. Above, rim pattern of independent, horizontal spirals. Glaze on interior and exterior black below, red above. Writing: Near left edge of wall, one Greek letter, A. Technique: MW C26
