Το Νιχώρι ή Νεοχώρι είναι το νεότερο χωριό του Βοσπόρου, χτισμένο σε τοποθεσία γνωστή από τη βυζαντινή περίοδο ως Νεάπολη. Η τουρκική ονομασία Yenikoy προκύπτει από τις πολλές κουμαριές της περιοχής. Πρόκειται για μεταγενέστερη έκδοση του έργου "The Beauties of the Bosphorus ; by Miss Pardoe. Illustrarted in a Series of Views of Constantinople and its environs, from original drawings by W. H. Bartlett. Virtue and Co., London" (1838).
