Description
Top of doric column shaft with deep circular flutes meeting at sharp arrises (arc of flutes 0.172). Two and a half deep necking rings at top of shaft occupying 0.053 of height. Height and form of necking rings similar to those on exterior columns of 6th c. Temple of Apollo. Upper D. of shaft (approx. 90 percent of upper diameter of columns of the flank ptera of Temple of Apollo) would be appropriate for porch columns of the temple. Decoration: Slight traces of original white stucco on flutes. Tan sandy stucco belonging to later period of reuse on top and on flutes.
